CAES Institute Proposal Deadline: June 15

Attention members and amici of CAES:

The CAES board is excited to announce that the annual Institute will be at Union College again this year, on October 27-28. The theme is tene tranquillum et utere Latina, reflecting our hope that in these interesting times we continue to find inspiration in the language we all love so much. To that end we are delighted that our keynote speaker will be former New York City book editor Ann Patty, author of Living with a Dead Language: My Romance with Latin, an entertaining exploration of the richness and relevance of the Latin language and literature.

We’re writing so you can start making your plans to attend and to give you the opportunity to submit a proposal to make a presentation at the Institute. The duration is either 30 minutes or an hour. We have several presentations lined up by both professors and teachers, but there are still slots available for more. Please click here to submit your proposal by June 15.

In the coming weeks please check the website for updates on program, registration and scholarship information. Start spreading the word and we certainly hope to see you there!

Ex animo,

John Mooney
CAES board President
