Living Latin in NYC

There is still time to sign up for this weekend's (Feb. 16-17) Living Latin conference. From their website:
Living Latin in New York City is a two-day Living Latin conference in the heart of Manhattan hosted jointly by The Paideia Institute and the Fordham University Department of Classics. It is designed to allow teachers and students of Latin to explore and practice the active use of Latin in the classroom.

CAES Scholarship Chair Needed

Attention CAES members! CAES needs a new Scholarship Committee Chair. We are grateful for the many years of service that Kitrina Finlayson has given to us as the former chair, and she will be willing to help guide the new chair through the transition.

We are looking for a CAES member who will oversee a committee of approximately five members. The chair receives the scholarship information, organizes that information, and sends it to the committee members for review. The chair takes all the individual recommendations from the members and then makes the final decision about awarding the CAES scholarships, grants, and honorific awards. As chair you would work closely with the treasurer and present awards at the annual CAES Institute in October. It will also be the responsibility of the new chair to seek out nominations for awards and scholarship, and to find new committee members as needed. We know we need one more committee member as well.

For more information about the responsibilities of the position, please contact Mrs. Finlayson at magistrakatie@gmail.com.

If you are interested in becoming the next chair, please contact CAES president Charlie Giglio at charliegiglio2015@gmail.com. You may also contact CAES webmaster, Kristen Griswold at caesny@gmail.com.
