Here's an addition to the program about a topic that's been getting a lot of attention recently: at the Lunch and Business Meeting on Saturday, October 29, 11:30am-1pm, there will be a brief overview of NYS Seal of Biliteracy by Ricardo Constantino, Associate Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages, New York State Education Department.

The Friday morning board meeting has been moved to room 102 in Lamont (not 002).

Annual Institute Update - Late Registration & Parking
Next Friday, 10/28, marks the start of the 53rd Annual Institute! If you have not registered, but intend to attend, please register ASAP. You may also register in person when you arrive at Union College. Visit the Annual Institute page for program and registration information. At this point you will be unable to attend the banquet or the other meals; however, you will be able to participate in the workshops themselves.
For your convenience, we have posted a copy of a map of the Union College Campus. This notes the parking lots, buildings, etc. If you are attending the CAES Board Meeting on Friday morning, please park in the lot on Seward and Nott. CAAS Grants for High School Students
The Classical Association of the Atlantic States announces the availability of grants to high school
students who wish to participate in a program that enriches their educational experience and deepens their connection to Classics.
Eligibility: Open to all high school students enrolled in grades 9-12 residing or attending school full-time within the CAAS region. The project must be concluded before grantees begin their post-secondary education. Up to three grants will be awarded annually with each award having a maximum of $5000. The total amount of all awards will not exceed $10,000 annually. A one-year membership to CAAS will be awarded to the winners’ recommending teachers for the next membership year.
