Latin Opening - Young Women's College Prep - Rochester, NY

Young Women's College Prep is a charter school in Rochester, NY. All students are required to take Latin in 7th and 8th grade. We are currently seeking a Latin teacher for students who choose to continue Latin into the 9th grade and eventually through the AP level. We are seeking Latin teachers who value fluency and active engagement with the language. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. Dual certification is a plus. New York State Teaching Certification in Adolescent Latin Education required. Competitive salary and benefits with full-time, certified positions starting at $40,000. Postcard reminders were recently sent out to our members. If you received a postcard, on the mailing label you will see a date next to your name. This indicates the year through which your membership has been paid. We are currently accepting dues for 2014. If your membership is no longer current, we hope that you will renew soon. Opportunities for High School & College Students via Ascanius: The Youth Classics Institute

LatinSummer: Rome – An unforgettable summer enrichment program for middle-schoolers and their parents, on-site in Rome! Participants will learn Latin and take part in engaging activities, all the while visiting the monumental sites of Rome! Target audience is students without significant experience with Latin. Classical Promise Scholarships – High school or college Latin students can apply for funding, materials, and mentorship to support them in bringing a Latin and Classical Studies program to elementary and middle school children in their own hometown!
